Description

Ridge gourd, known as Beerakaya in Telugu, is a climbing vine that produces long, green, ridged fruits. The plant is known for its vigorous growth, thriving in warm, humid climates with plenty of sunlight. The fruits are tender when young and can be used in curries and stir-fries. As the fruit matures, the flesh becomes spongy and contains white seeds, which can also be used as a natural sponge.
